We have a new badge!

A few months ago we were informed that using our old badge would no longer be possible in the long-term. We took the decision as a Committee, at that moment, to put together a new Club badge that we could call our own and would better represent the Club.

We went to social media to ask for designs to be submitted. We were overwhelmed by the fantastic response we received from club members as well as the general public as we were inundated with some fantastic designs. Some of the entries had really captured our imagination and the explanations provided on why elements had been included were really thought-provoking.

In the end we turned to our own club member, Owen Rice, who is part of the Committee and has been helping with producing some fantastic graphics for our social media. He along with the help of Andrew Cooper and also Neil Ferguson of Blur 7 Design put together the finishing touches of our new badge.

We are very proud of the outcome and now have a club crest we can call our own. We’d like to thank everyone who submitted designs, they were all amazing and gave us so much inspiration for own design. Congratulations to Owen, who will see his design as the corner piece of the club for years to come.

We will now begin to slowly phase out the use of our old badge, starting with social media and internal documents. Eventually we will look to replace all previously branded content with the badge, however this may take some time and will involve a cost too. A project plan will be put in place to deal with this.

We are extremely excited about our future as a club and we are pleased that we’ll be stepping into a new era with a new identity. We hope you like it too.

SEA Club Committee

12th July 2020

Some news from our Sunday team to round off a busy week for the club.

Joe Duggan, has decided to step down after a year in charge of SEA Maroon to concentrate on playing again although he will continue to assist with coaching at training. We would like to thank Joe for the excellent work he has done within the club over the last year.

We are very pleased to announce that Ste Daley, who has just returned to take on a role overseeing football across the club, has accepted the vacant position of Manager.

As mentioned in our message during the week, Ste has been one of the main driving forces towards the success of SEA and, as well as being Chairman for 8 years, he has previously managed both the First team and Reserves.

Ste will be joined by current Maroon player Louie Phillips who will be second in command and former South East Bas Eltigani who completes the management team as their assistant.

We are excited by the combined hunger, quality and experience within the new Management team, along with the passion that they all have for the club, and feel that this is the right set up to help push Maroon forward and help them become a force, again, within WESFA.

A NEW Committee member

Club Announcement

As well as the appointment of our new first team managers the Committee would also like to welcome back Ste Daley to the Committee, who has re-joined us to take on a new role in charge of all football across the club.

Ste is no stranger to SEA as he was previously Chairman of the club for 8 years between and 2011 and 2019. Ste was instrumental in the growth and rise of the club’s stature in those 8 years as he saw the 1st team shoot from the top of the Bromley & District League to competing in the Kent County Football League Division One West. The best night of his tenure came on his last game as Chairman when the 1st team won the Kent Intermediate Challenge Shield in front of a few hundred fans in Chatham against a strong Staplehurst Monarchs side. This was, and remains, the Club’s biggest trophy win to date.

One of the things Ste was most proud of, during his time as Chairman, has to have been overseeing the development of a new youth team at the Club. The under 9s, as they were in their first season, continue to be a big part of the Club and will now compete as under 11s in the 2020/21 season.

Ste carried the club, quite literally, on his own for many years. Recognising the need for greater governance and scrutiny off the field he began to put together a Committee of club members who could continue his good work in the interest of all club members. Ste took a break from running the club after the 2018/19 season to regather himself and prepare himself for new challenges.

Ste had a brief stint at Welling Town during the 2019/20 season, helping their Committee with a few projects. Since leaving Welling Town he came back to SEA (although he’d never left in-truth being a player for the Vets Team) in an off the field capacity as interim 1st team manager.

Following the coronavirus outbreak and the voiding of the 2019/20 season Ste put a proposal to the Committee asking how the Club intended to progress in the future and how they would manage this process. After an open and honest discussion between the Committee and Ste it was agreed that he would re-join and be in charge of all footballing matters across the Club. In particular Ste will be the link between the managers and the Committee, ensuring they have a voice at Committee meetings. Ste will also be charged with making sure the Club is able to take the steps needed to move up the leagues if results on the pitch ensure promotions are possible, with the ultimate aim of the 1st team progressing up through the leagues.

Ste’s passion, vision, drive and love for the Club all make him an exceptional Committee member and the Club are delighted he has decided to return to lend his hand off the field. Ste’s first job was to find a new 1st team manger which he has duly done with the appointments of Ashely Stone and Aaron McCall. Next on the list will be ensuring the smooth running of all teams as we look to begin pre-season in the near future. Welcome back Ste, we’re delighted to have you back where you belong!

1st Team Management

7th July 2020

Club Announcement

SEA Committee are delighted to announce that Ashley Stone and Aaron McCall have joined the club to take on joint responsibility as first team managers.

The club received some excellent applications that were considered in careful detail by the Committee. Following this process and a round of interviews, Ashley and Aaron were offered the role, for which they have enthusiastically accepted.

Both Ashley and Aaron were integral in the rapid rise of Rochester City as they progressed up the Kent County leagues. Last season Ashley and Aaron managed Snodland Town FC in the SCEFL Division 1, before the season was cut-short following the coronavirus outbreak.

The SEA Committee were particularly impressed by their experience and knowledge of the KCFL, as well as their understanding of the higher echelons of the grassroots scene in the South-East following their stint at Snodland Town. They have also held committee positions in the past, demonstrating their understanding of what it takes to run a successful football club at this level.

Ashley and Aaron bring a fresh, dynamic but experienced set of hands to the Club, who will be looking to retain and bring in talented footballers and good club members to help improve the on-field results of the 1st team.

The Committee are excited to usher in a new era for the 1st team and hope to see a competitive team once again that can challenge in Division One West.

We hope this appointment demonstrates the intent of the football club and its desire to improve its on-field success as well as pushing the club forwards off the pitch. The Club would like to welcome Ashley and Aaron into the fold and we share their excitement for the future of this great club.

Where do we play?

All 7 of our teams play in the same location, which is a great luxury that we have this opportunity for the SEA youth at the age of 6 to see right through to the vibrant vets all at the same place ... use the map to locate us
